August 22, 2022 — Epicurean Butter has recalled 3.5-ounce tubs of Wegmans Lemon Dill Finishing Butter due to a risk of food poisoning.
The recall was announced after the herb supplier reported that certain lots of frozen dill could be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes, a bacteria that can cause food poisoning.
The recalled butter products were distributed at Wegmans Food Markets in New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Maryland, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina, and Washington DC.
No illnesses were reported, but infections with Listeria can be serious and even life-threatening, particularly for children, elderly adults, pregnant women, and people with vulnerable immune systems.
The product was sold in 3.5-ounce, black plastic cups with a Wegmans® label on the lid. For a list of recalled “Best By” dates and Lot Numbers, see the recall notice.
Customers who bought the recalled 3.5-ounce packages of “Wegmans Lemon Dill Finishing Butter” are urged to return them to the place of purchase for a full refund.
