September 29, 2020 — A man from Virginia has filed a lawsuit after he was burned by a Power Pressure Cooker XL.
The lawsuit was filed against Tristar Products Inc., the “As Seen on TV” company that manufactures the Power Pressure Cooker XL.
The plaintiff, Christopher S., is a man from Virginia who claims he was seriously burned by an explosion of hot food on October 13, 2018.
He blames his injuries on the failure of the so-called “Built-In Safety Features” on the Power Pressure Cooker XL, including a lid that is supposed to lock until the pressure is released and it is safe to open.
Instead, he says he was able to easily twist open the lid while the Power Pressure Cooker XL was still dangerously pressurized, which allowed the “scalding-hot contents to be forcefully ejected.”
His lawsuit also accuses Tristar Products of failing to issue a recall or redesign the Power Pressure Cooker XL with a safer alternative.
The Pressure Cooker Lawsuit (PDF) was filed on September 24, 2020 in the Circuit Court of the First Judicial District (Walton County, Florida) — Filing # 113905154.
