July 1, 2024 — Solata Foods LLC has recalled about 40 types of fresh spinach under many brand-names due to a risk of food poisoning with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria.
The recall involves Solata, Gaia Organic, Full Circle Organic, Farmer Direct, Uncle Vinny’s, and Bogopa brands of fresh spinach in various sizes, including bagged spinach and plastic clamshell containers.
The recalled “Fresh Spinach” was distributed locally in retail stores.
The packages have Lot Numbers #40606 and #11006 on the package, with an expiration date of 6/20/24 and 6/24/24 stamped on the side. The product UPC codes are listed on the recall.
No illnesses were reported. Instead, the Listeria contamination was discovered in routine sampling by health officials in New York.
The product that tested positive was a 9-ounce package of Bogopa “Fresh Spinach.” Production of the product has been suspended, according to the recall.
