RadWagon E-Bikes Recalled After 8 People Injured in Tire Blowout Accidents
In November 2022, Rad Power Bikes Inc. recalled about 29,300 RadWagon 4 Electric Cargo Bikes after at least 8 people were injured when the tires blew out, suddenly deflated, or separated from the sidewall.
How Many People Were Injured?
At least 8 people suffered injuries due to the tire blowouts and deflations, including 5 people who reported road rash, cuts and/or bruises, one report of a broken wrist, and one report of a broken arm.
There were 137 reports of tires blowing out, deflating and separating from the sidewalls.
What E-Bikes Were Recalled?
The recall involves Rad Power Bikes® RadWagon 4 Electric Cargo Bikes (e-bikes) which were sold in black, white and orange colors.
The name “RADWAGON” is printed on the side of the upper downtube of the ebike frame and “RAD POWER BIKES” is printed on the lower downtube of the frame.
The recall also includes spare RadWagon 4 tires that were sold separately under the product name “Rad Power Bikes by VEE Tire Co.” The tires measure 22 inches by 3 inches.
The recalled e-bikes were sold at Rad Power Bikes stores nationwide and online at www.radpowerbike.com from September 2020 through August 2022.
