What is the problem?
The Schmidt Firm, PLLC is nationally recognized as a class action law firm, but we are not filing a papaya recall class action. Instead, we are filing individual lawsuits on behalf of people who were diagnosed with Salmonella after eating recalled papayas from Mexico.
About Class Actions
Class actions have advantages when a lot of people are seeking small payouts, such as refunds. If compensation is awarded by a jury verdict or a settlement, members of the class action share the payout equally.
Why Our Law Firm is Filing Individual Lawsuits as Opposed to a Class Action
Class actions can have disadvantages for people who have very serious food poisoning, especially if they were hospitalized. If compensation is awarded, they may have to share the payout with everyone else in the class action, even people with minor injuries.
Our lawyers file individual lawsuits so we can focus on helping people who suffered very severe food poisoning. If you had Salmonella from eating papayas, we may be able to help you file a lawsuit and seek compensation for your medical expenses, and more.
