December 3, 2024 — A woman who was cut by the razor-sharp blades when she reached into the box of a brand-new Ninja Blender has filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer, SharkNinja.
The lawsuit was filed by Mikayla L., a woman who lives in New Jersey. She claims that she was injured by a Ninja Blender because the blade assembly was defective and “unreasonably dangerous.”
She specifically claims that the Ninja Blender’s blade assembly was “improperly and safely packaged.” On November 30, 2022, she reached into the box of a brand-new Ninja Blender to pull it out.
When she reached in, she suffered “serious and substantial laceration injuries” when her hands hit the razor-sharp blades that were uncovered and loose in the box, according to her lawsuit.
Her lawsuit also details what happened immediately afterward:
“[Mikayla] immediately began bleeding and was consumed with pain. She screamed, waking her parents, and then she passed out. Her parents rushed into the kitchen to find Mikayla lying on the floor, faint, with blood pouring from her hand.”
She suffered significant and painful bodily injuries, medical expenses, mental anguish, medical expenses, and loss of enjoyment of life, according to the lawsuit.
Her lawsuit also accuses SharkNinja Operating LLC of failing to take simple steps to protect unsuspecting customers from being injured on the loose blades in the box, like using a simple cardboard covering.
The Ninja Blender Lawsuit was filed on October 30, 2024 in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey — Case Number 2:24-cv-10166-CCC-SDA.
