December 17, 2024 — Mr. Christmas recalled about 44,600 Christmas tree light controllers after a fire was reported.
The fast-track recall involves a wireless product that switches on/off Christmas tree lights. It consists of a switch box and a wireless receiver that is plugged into an outlet.
The problem is that the wireless receiver that plugs into an outlet can overheat, which poses a fire hazard.
The recalled Christmas tree light controllers were sold at Walmart and Cracker Barrel with the words “Christmas Light Controller.” They are shaped like a green, red, and white peppermint candy.
The recall also involves light controllers that were sold at Target under the Wondershop™ brand-name. They look like a square on/off switch box with a lever, three lights (green, red, and white), and the words “Tree Lighting Switch” written on the side of the box.
The switches are controlled with a white wireless receiver that is plugged into an outlet, which is labeled with the words “Mr. Christmas” and one of the following model numbers: 39611, 39612 or 39630.
Mr. Christmas said it received 10 reports of overheating receivers, including one report of a fire. No injuries were reported.
The switches were sold nationwide from July 2024 to November 2024 at Walmart, Target, Cracker Barrel, and and online for $25 to $40. For more information, visit the recall website at https://mrchristmas.com/pages/recall.
