February 4, 2019 — Walmart, ALDI, and Costco have announced recalls for fresh peaches, plums, and nectarines that may be contaminated with Listeria.
The fruit was supplied by Jac. Vandenberg, Inc. of Yonkers, New York, and sold at grocery stores in the following states: Alabama, California, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Maine, Massachusetts, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia and Virginia.
The recall involves 1,727 cartons of peaches, 1,207 cartons of nectarines and 365 cartons of plums. The recall was announced after finished products tested positive for Listeria monocytogenes bacteria during a routine sampling program by the packing house.
No illnesses have been reported.

The peaches and nectarines were sold as a bulk retail produce item with PLU sticker (PLU# 4044, 3035, 4378) showing the country of origin of Chile.
ALDI sold the recalled peaches, nectarines and plums in a 2-pound bag under the brand-name Rio Duero and EAN# 7804650090281, 7804650090298, 7804650090304.
Costco sold the recalled nectarines in a 4-pound plastic clamshell with the brand Rio Duero, EAN# 7804650090212.
Consumers can return the recalled fruit to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with questions can contact the company at compliance@jacvandenberg.com.
