July 16, 2024 — Al’Fez Natural Tahini has been recalled nationwide because it may be contaminated with Salmonella.
The manufacturer, AB World Foods US, Inc., announced the voluntary recall after “testing by the company revealed the presence of Salmonella.”
No illnesses were reported, but infections with Salmonella can be serious, especially for young children, elderly adults, and people with vulnerable immune systems.
The recall involves Al’Fez Natural Tahini in 5.6-ounce glass jars. The product was distributed nationwide in retail stores beginning on May 26, 2023.
The glass jars are labeled with UPC 711464506778, and with a “BEST BEFORE” of “2024 JL 11” or later. The recalled Lot Codes include 3031, 3080, 3270, or 3297.
AB World Foods US is urging customers to stop using this product immediately and return the product to the place of purchase for a full refund.
