April 6, 2023 — Revolution Farms, a hydroponic lettuce grower based in Michigan, has recalled certain lettuce and salad kits due to a risk of Listeria contamination.
No illnesses were reported, but Listeria was found in a random sample of Revolution Farms® Green Sweet Crisp (5oz) Retail with a Best By date of April 2, 2023, according to health officials in Michigan.
In response, a recall was issued for Revolution Farms® brand-name products in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky and Wisconsin.
These products were sold at SpartanNash stores, Meijer stores, Bridge St. Market, Kingma’s Market, Fresh Thyme Market Grand Rapids, Fresh Thyme Market Kalamazoo, Horrocks Market Grand Rapids, Doorganics, Cherry Capital Foods, Gordon Food Service, Van Eerden Foodservice, Vine Line Produce, Luna restaurant, Russ’ Commissary, and Pearson Foods Corporation, according to the recall.
Infections with Listeria monocytogenes can be serious and sometimes deadly. The risk is greatest for young children, elderly adults, and people with compromised immune systems. Pregnant women may suffer a miscarriage, stillbirth, or infection of the newborn.
