September 21, 2022 — A lawsuit has been filed by a woman who claims that her Cosori Pressure Cooker exploded when she opened the lid.
The plaintiff, Alyssa M., is a woman from Connecticut who claims that she was burned in August 2019 by a defective Cosori Premium 6-Quart Pressure Cooker (Model #CP016-PC).
The manufacturers are accused of misleading consumers by advertising the pressure cooker as “easy, simple, fast, and safe.”
The product was also advertised to contain “ten safety mechanisms,” and specifically that the “lid will stay locked until the float valve drops down.”
Instead, the woman claims that she easily twisted open the lid on her Cosori Pressure Cooker when it was still pressurized. Doing so allowed “its scalding hot contents to be forcefully ejected from the pressure cooker” and all over her body, resulting in severe burns.
The Cosori Pressure Cooker Lawsuit was filed against Arovast Corporation (doing business as Cosori Corporation) on August 2, 2022 in the U.S. District Court for Connecticut — Case Number 3:22-cv-00980-SALM.
