August 18, 2021 — A natural gas pipeline explosion in Texas killed 2 men and injured 3 others, according to WFAA-TV.
The explosion occurred on July 26 at about 4 p.m., when contractors for Atmos Energy were servicing the pipeline in an unincorporated area near Farmersville, about 35 miles northeast of Dallas.
The Farmersville police chief identified the victims as Ethan Knight, 22, and Deric Tarver, 35. They were contractors working for Bobcat Contracting and Fesco Petroleum Engineering.
Two other men were hospitalized with severe burn injuries. One man suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
Atmos Energy published a statement saying: “Our prayers are with those who were affected by the events in Farmersville, Texas today. Our number one priority continues to be the safety of the public, our employees, our contractors, and our natural gas distribution system.”
