InvoSpa Electric Blanket Recall for Fire & Burn Hazard
In November 2020, a recall was issued for InvoSpa Electric Throw Heated Blankets (50″x60″) due to a risk of fire and burn injuries.
What is the Problem?
The recalled electric blankets can overheat due to a defect in the controller, according to InvoSpa. This problem poses a fire hazard and a risk of burn injuries to consumers.
Burn Injury Linked to Electric Blanket
InvoSpa reported 26 overheating incidents, including 2 injuries. One person said they suffered a minor burn injury. Another person suffered an unspecified injury.
Where Were They Sold?
About 7,050 of these recalled blankets were sold exclusively online at Amazon.com from November 2019 through July 2020 for about $70.
Was My Electric Blanket Recalled?
The white and gray blankets are made of silky flannel and sherpa shu velveteen. The recall includes all blankets with Model Number ML-G03 on a tag attached to the blanket. They may be marked with Factory Code: DGCBHD7.
