October 6, 2020 — Decathlon USA has recalled Domyos Swiss Balls after dozens of reports of the balls unexpectedly bursting.
The recall involves Decathlon’s Domyos Swiss Balls, which are also referred to as exercise balls, pilates balls or gymnastics gymballs.
Decathlon said it has received 26 reports of the balls unexpectedly bursting, resulting in 6 injuries worldwide, including bruises, scratches, and fractures. About 510 of the exercise balls were sold in the U.S.
They were sold at Decathlon stores nationwide and online at www.decathlon.com from February 2019 to March 2020 for about $20.
The products have Model Numbers 8529175, 8529176 and 8529177. They were sold in blue, bordeaux, and gray, with diameters measuring between 21.65 inches and 29.53 inches. The name “Domyos” the diameter and the weight are printed near the base of the ball.
